About Us

OUR VISION:
‘TRANSFORMING OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH THE PRESENCE OF CHRIST’

Every week St Nicholas Church, Orpington, is used for church services as well as by members of the community. Our prayer is that as we welcome members of the community here, we would also welcome the presence of Christ, and that as people encounter Christ they would be transformed.

As a church we hold to the historic faith of the church, as set out in the Nicene Creed.

Our Values

LISTENING

We want to be a church that is listening to God, listening to each other, listening to the Community.

GENEROUS

‘For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son’ (John 3:16). We want our generosity to reflect the generosity of God.

OPEN

Our prayer is that as a church we would be open to God, open to All, and open to change.

Non-Judgemental

We want to be a church that is non-judgemental (Matthew 7:1), with ‘an attitude of grace, an attitude that values us even knowing our failings’.

KIND

‘The kindness of God leads us to repentance’ (Romans 2:4). We want our kindness to reflect the loving-kindness (in Hebrew ‘Chesed’) of God.
